In 1997, Random House published Astro’s first novel, Exegesis. He has since self-published a second experimental-novel, Among These Savage Thoughts, and sold a film script to Paramount. His third book, Sacred Cows, is a non-fiction work co-authored with his wife, Danielle Teller.

Jedermann is a project by Astro and Christopher Pacione that fuses aspects of art and computer science into an interactive experience. Facial characteristics and personal information are taken from participants, and transformed into living digital portraits. The Jedermann Project website is an online continuation of a 1997 exhibit at the Hewlett Gallery in Pittsburgh.
